| Dr. Jim thanks for your reply.
I did not expect a reply at Sunday night for you. On the contrary,
your reply came quickly.
As soon as I read your email, I took out my Dr. Mom scope and gave
it careful scrutiny. It is so well machined that I and others I
showed it to did not see the fine seam for the battery compartment;
I unscrewed it with the help of my multitool. Here is some
background as why I posed the question.
On Saturday afternoon, 1605hrs local time, my 34th Minnesota Army
National Guard medics and I assisted and rendered care at a mass
casualty attack in nearby Habbiniyah, Iraq, where the insurgents
blew up a truck in front of the local mosque as the worshipers were
leaving. The pretext was that the local sunnis are turning against
these mostly foreign thugs, and the mosque's imam has spoken against
the insurgency...unprecedented for our part of Al Anbar province.
We had over 100 casualties with anywhere fro 35 to 75 killed. One of
the first sunni on sunni suicide attacks in our region.
That little otoscope, a LED style and the original (no model number)
worked wonderfully through the six hours we labored. Only after the
mass casualty was over, it occured to me that the batteries may need
changing in the future...I don't have my paperwork in Iraq with me;
that's why the question. Thanks for your help! By the way, we
arrived here a year ago and my scope has been in over 120F temps.
Your battery selection has been superb. Besides still holding a
charge, the two AAA batteries are showing NO degeneration, NO
leakage.
Thanks for the offer; it will be of much use if there is a next mass
casualty attack. Here is our address:

Thanks again! Major Rivers
